Group Coaching

Walking together is often better than walking alone.

This course is designed for leaders who wish to optimize personal wellbeing so that positive energy and creativity are supported and sustained, even in times of disruption and turbulence.

The Art of WellBeing utilizes a “coach approach” process in which the primary resource is the internal wisdom and expertise of participants rather than prescriptions from a teacher. Group process and individual coaching sessions make use of inquiry and response to generate greater self-awareness and clarity about each participant’s overall wellbeing. Each will discern and make choices which best fit their current context and season of life.

What happens in a group coaching session?

In each group online session, your coach leader will:

  • Lead by asking questions. Some questions are for each participant to answer, some questions are for open-ended group discussion. You will have the opportunity to express your own responses as well as receive insights from listening to others. We all learn from one another, trusting the power of the Spirit in our midst which makes this holy conversation.

  • Offer to do a mini-coaching session with one participant in the presence of the entire group. Those who observe will be asked to reflect on what they noticed during the session that they can apply to their own life. Important insights often occur while observing another person being coached, even for 10 minutes.

  • Ask each participant to make a small step commitment at the conclusion of every group session and to include in that commitment how they will hold themselves accountable. Studies have shown that we are more likely to follow through on a goal when we share that goal outloud with another person.

How much preparation is required?

In The Art of WellBeing, each group session will focus on a topic related to WellBeing and will include some pre-work which includes watching a video, reading the quotes, and then answering reflection questions in response. Most participants report spending about an hour of preparation for each group session. More than an hour is fine and will only enhance the experience. Each lesson is emailed one week in advance and also contains a resource page with suggested books, podcasts, articles, and videos that can be reviewed at your leisure. These resources are not required reading for the course.

Confidentiality is an important expectation of each participant for the group sessions.

Each participant will be asked to commit to total confidentiality for the safety and effectivity of group sessions.

“This course made a big difference in my approach to rest and renewal; I have been handling the stress of life better ever since! Vicki's coaching approach is open and accepting - never forced. This allowed time and space for deep personal insight. New awareness of root issues leads to freedom from automatic patterns. During our coaching season together, my ability to be creative was expanded and I feel increasing wholeness as a result!”

“I think every pastor and lay person would find The Art of Wellbeing a gift to themselves and by extension to those whom we serve. The format of reading, reflection and sharing with others was very inviting to me. I enjoyed creating a covenant by which to hold myself accountable to leading a more well-balanced and thoughtful life. Would highly recommend to all.”
