“The magic of coaching is the way in which small steps, chosen over time, create a transformative trajectory.”

Our work as leaders in a world of working remotely has created an even greater need for connection with colleagues on the journey.  Group coaching provides inspiration, encouragement, and safe accountability for moving forward. Through individual coaching, Vicki offers deep listening, meaningful questions, encouragement, authentic affirmation, honest feedback, opportunities to celebrate, and an accountability partner. The fundamental assumption is that the one being coached—you—are creative, resourceful, and the expert on your own life.  Vicki’s job is to listen deeply and ask guiding questions so that you gain awareness and clarity about what you really want or about what needs to change in order for you to move forward. Dr. Vicki Johnson has been asking questions and listening deeply to leaders for over 35 years with 500+ hours of individual and group leadership coaching. The Art of WellBeing is the fruit of Vicki’s long-time interest and continued personal journey toward spiritual, emotional, relational, and physical wellbeing.

“This course has been life changing! We all know that we need meaningful relationships, connection with nature, more rest, less technology, and so on. But The Art of WellBeing actually gave me the framework to put those important things into practice. It's given me a healthy rhythm to live by, and I'm beyond thankful for that!”

“I appreciate the engaging and creative compilation of information Vicki shared with our cohort. The coaching model allowed her to facilitate our collective sharing of wisdom without giving us direct answers or advice. Our one-on-one coaching calls offered spiritual depth and insight that helped me make practical adjustments in my life.”

Rev. Sam McGlothlin

“This course made a big difference in my approach to rest and renewal; I have been handling the stress of life better ever since! Vicki's coaching approach is open and accepting - never forced. This allowed time and space for deep personal insight. New awareness of root issues leads to freedom from automatic patterns. During our coaching season together, my ability to be creative was expanded and I feel increasing wholeness as a result!”

“As the only non-clergy in my cohort, I was made to feel welcome, and my experience in Vicki’s wellness course has been life-changing. Even months afterward, I still refer to my own personal “Rule of Life” daily. Vicki has put together an inspiring, workable program that helps participants to discover what is most important to each individual. I highly recommend this program to anyone seeking clarity on one’s highest life goals. In addition, it’s inspirational to meet other like-minded friends as fellow cohorts in Vicki’s program.”

“I think every pastor and lay person would find The Art of Wellbeing a gift to themselves and by extension to those whom we serve. The format of reading, reflection and sharing with others was very inviting to me. I enjoyed creating a covenant by which to hold myself accountable to leading a more well-balanced and thoughtful life. Would highly recommend to all.”

“The Art of WellBeing came along precisely when I needed it, though I wasn’t aware at the time just how much I did.  Not only did it bring fresh ideas—or new perspectives to existing ones—but it also gave me permission to be more thoughtful and honest about who I am and why.  Most importantly, though, the course made room for me to discover and celebrate areas of wellbeing where I’m already succeeding, while challenging me to bravely attempt to do better.”

Thanks to the practices I have learned through The Art of WellBeing Course, I have discovered a new sense of rest and rhythm that is re-shaping my time, relationships, habits, and overall outlook on life and ministry. I am already seeing the fruit of this renewed passion and purpose in my preaching and pastoral care as well as my parenting and personal relationships.”

“Vicki’s Art of WellBeing course offered me valuable personal and professional time to recenter and refocus on my physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. The COVID season has, and continues to be, a time of extreme change and relentless pivoting and adapting to new ways of living and engaging with colleagues, friends, family, and our communities. For me, serving God most effectively happens when I live from a place of love, compassion, forgiveness, and grace. Vicki’s course, as well as our individual coaching sessions, have created space for me to imagine and envision my path and next steps with more clarity and focused purpose. I am grateful for the ways she shares her gifts and passion through her leadership, coaching, and now, her Art of WellBeing course— working with her is a win-win!”

I am a better me, a better disciple, a better wife, mother, and pastor because of ‘The Art of Wellbeing’ and Vicki’s coaching.”

“Giving attention to each of the major themes of the course, I felt revitalized in body, mind and spirit.  As my gifts were affirmed and purpose clarified, I became hopeful and excited about my future path in ministry.  In addition to being a parish pastor, I am a certified yoga instructor.  I enjoyed crafting a rule of life based on yoga postures that facilitate stillness, strength, connection, creativity and surrender.  With gratitude, as a result of the course, I have regained a joyful flow to my life.”

“Vicki’s WellBeing Cohort is a timely anchor of both professional growth and refreshing self and spiritual renewal during the unprecedented time of a pandemic. As an ordained clergy and a trained coach, the Art of WellBeing offered me a space for deep reflection on the importance of a balanced rhythm and rule of life as well as a space for creativity to expand the possibilities in ministry leadership during a time when both are deeply needed in the church and world today! As leaders, tasked with navigating faith communities through such challenging times, this coaching cohort brings with it fellowship with other leaders and deepening understandings of balancing soul and self care within leadership and ministry in ways that bring fulfillment and wellbeing, both spiritually and physically, for such a time as this!”

“When I transitioned from being a music minister to being a pastor in charge, I thought I had to be so serious. I was always a fun-loving guy before. But then I went around with a knot in my stomach because I kept thinking I wasn’t doing things right. And now I’ve been given permission to be creative and playful, even as a senior pastor.
